The winner of the WA Branch 2005 Annual Air Achievement Award was Dr Sue Graham-Taylor, Coordinator Pollution Action Network & Senior Vice-President Conservation Council of Western Australia.
Dr Graham-Taylor has contributed in an outstanding manner to work in the air quality field above and beyond the normal course of duty. Sue is a respected and acknowledged advocate for the community and her continued contribution over the past 12 years to the debate and discussion centering on air quality, has at times been ahead of government consideration and policy development. She has been instrumental in bringing together key researchers, scientists and government representatives in community forums with the intended purposes of sharing and exchanging information and opinions.
Dr Graham-Taylor is also an accomplished historian and writer who has published extensively. She is the Curator of History and Head of the Sustainability Unit of the WA Museum and is responsible for collections, exhibitions and research related to Western Australian history. Sue has an extensive knowledge of the history of public health, waste management and environmental issues from the 19th century to the present day.
